The first half saw a team that was “flat and unimpressive,” coach Troy Cohrs said. The result was two pretty cheap goals, he said. Those goals cost the girls as Northfield lost 2-0 and fell to 1-3-2 on the year. The second half was the cliche, but honest, 180-degree turnaround. “They responded with the best collective 40 minutes I’ve seen from them all year,” Cohrs said. “They played even better than they did against Lakeville North.” It still wasn’t enough — even though the girls shutout the Huskies in the second half — they didn’t score any goals to cut into the 2-0 deficit. Cohrs said the girls are still trying to figure out things as the team is still a bit young. “We’re struggling at times to bring the level of intensity we need to bring every game,” he said. The Raiders play 7 p.m. Saturday at home against Rochester John Marshall and then battle highly ranked Woodbury at 5 p.m. Monday at home. —Shane Kitzman Coach Coach bags Coach hangbags Coach purses Discount coach
